Texas might not be somewhere you immediately think of when considering retirement, but it has a wide variety for everyone. This huge state has big cities like Dallas or Austin but also smaller places with that hometown feel. There are plenty of great national parks to visit, and the state as a whole is very affordable.

The downside is that Texas ranks #48 when it comes to the Lowest Percent of Population Aged 65 or Older. If that’s a concern for you, maybe this big state isn’t the best option!
