Foods You Should Never Store In The Fridge

Raisins

Raisins are dried out through a natural sun-drying process or by using specialized dehydrating techniques. This dehydration reduces the amount of water in the fruit, making it inhospitable for bacteria and mold growth.

Because of this lower moisture content, raisins have an extended shelf life and can be stored at room temperature without spoiling. In fact, refrigerating raisins can actually make them lose their flavor and become hardened. The cold temperatures cause moisture from the air to condense on the surface of the raisin, resulting in a less palatable texture.
