Richard Went Against Will’s Wishes
Richard desperately loved his eldest son Will but didn’t agree to Will’s ultimatum as he felt that Kate deserved to be sued for the pain she had caused the family. Richard’s younger sons believed their mother should pay for what she had done to their father and themselves, but Will held up to his promise and stopped speaking to Richard for good.
Richard is still hurt that his eldest son doesn’t talk to him but understands that he has the right to be mad as well. Richard didn’t want to harm Kate, but he did want her to feel some pain, as he had been going through a lot the past couple of months.
