Marcil is one of those actresses for whom fame came early; she began with some theatre acting when she was eight years old. Her first major role was in General Hospital in 1992, and she got to reprise that role in the long-running sitcom for a couple of years.
Next came a role in Love, Honor, and Deceive, a made-for-TV sitcom. The 90s were particularly good for Marcil, who got to appear in a music video for pop icon Prince. She also got to play Gina Kincaid on Beverly Hills 90210.
