Sidney Poitier
Sidney Poitier was famously known for being the first African American actor in the film industry to win an Academy Award for Best Actor and a pioneer for racial equality within Hollywood. Poitier will be missed by millions as he was a great actor that starred in films such as A Raisin in the Sun and A Patch of Blue.
Poitier was an exceptional actor that not only won an Academy Award but also earned a BAFTA, a Grammy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards. He sadly passed away at the age of 96 years old on January 6th. He will be missed as he paved the way for many African Americans.
