When it comes to the poorest and most miserable city in South Carolina, Georgetown is ranked as number one as the small city has been dwindling in population for several years. With a population of around 9,000 residents, Georgetown has a high poverty rate of 37%.
Crime has risen over the past couple of years which has led many residents to move out. Since almost half of the population isn’t making a good living, the city of Georgetown is suffering immensely. Georgetown might look like an amazing city to live in, but since you can’t really make a good living, it should be avoided at all costs.
