Sara Lownds & Bob Dylan
Sara Lownds was Bob Dylan’s first wife; the couple quietly got married in 1965 and now have four children together. Several music writers have stated that their marriage was the inspiration behind many of Dylan’s songs in the 1960s and 1970s.
Those songs include “Sara,” “Abandoned Love,” and “Sad Eyed Lady of Lowlands.” The couple had a rocky marriage, and after twelve years, it ended in a divorce. Sara went on to appear in the 1978 film Renaldo and Clara.
