Phyllis George

Phyllis George was an American actress, sportscaster, businesswoman, and the 1971 Miss America pageant winner. She was one of the women that pioneered the era of women in sports broadcasting, eroding the dominance of men in the industry.
CBS invited her to join the network in 1974, and only a year later, she was promoted to The NFL Today cast, a role that made her one of the first prominent female sports reporters in the country. Phyllis eventually became the network’s morning news permanent anchor.
