Once again, Hawaii is considered to be one of the wealthiest states in the US, so it’s no surprise that even their poorest town’s median income is more than double the “poorest” in the country.
Even though the median household income is high, more than one in every five residents live below the poverty line, which is double the state’s average of 10.3%. It goes to show that what is considered to be a paradise for many still isn’t a paradise for all.
