Having oily hair is a bummer. It is no fun and makes you feel really self-conscious about yourself. Everything else can look great on you but if your scalp looks like you just dipped it in lotion, the look is ruined. The good news is that there are things y ou can do about your oily hair to get rid of it so that it doesn’t interfere with your life.
The first step is to find the right shampoo. Rarely do you see a shampoo labeled for oily hair but you do see shampoos that are labeled as clarifying shampoos or deep cleaning shampoos. These are the ones that you want. Suave has a shampoo called Daily Clarifying Shampoo that is good for oily hair. Neutragena has a shampoo called the Anti-Residue Shampoo and Herbal Essences has a shampoo called Drama Clean. All of these shampoos are good choices to use on oily hair.
Blowdrying your hair can help to keep the hair from looking so oily as it actually dries the oil up a bit, too. You should try to blow dry your hair daily. It is okay to put a thermal protectant on if you are concerned about the damage of the blow dryer.
With oily hair the best policy to follow is to keep your hands off of it. Once you style it, don’t make it a habit to keep touching it or brushing it often. When you do either of those things you will spread the oil and make the hair look even more oily.
Dry shampoos can be helpful with oily hair. You spray them in and they will absorb some of the oil.
On your very worst oily hair days, try to wear your hair up so that it is not as noticable. And relax about it; everyone has something they don’t like about their appearance.
