Get Great Skin During the Winter Months

Holiday parties and pictures and family time means you need to look your best; that’s why many women spend extra time taking care of their skin this time of year. The last thing you want is to see your dry, flaky skin in your photos, and we all know that the winter weather has a way of turning great skin into the Sahara. Use these three tips to help improve the look of your skin this winter season.

No Sulfates

If your skin cleanser has sulfate listed as an ingredient, walk away from it. This is the last thing you want to use on your skin this time of year. It can dry out your skin more than the harsh winter wind already has, and once your skin is this dry it’s hard to come back.

Go to Sleep

Don’t let the excuse that it’s the holidays season keep you from sleeping at least 7 hours per night. The better you sleep, the lovelier your skin will be. Your skin rejuvenates during the night – along with the rest of your body and mind. When you have adequate sleep, you have lovelier skin. When you don’t sleep you run the chance of suffering from bags, puffiness and even dark circles beneath your eyes.

Exfoliate

One of the biggest skin care mistakes many women make during the holiday season is skipping the exfoliation process. Some women think this time of year means their skin is dry and that exfoliating will only exacerbate that. It’s not true. While it is true that you shouldn’t exfoliate on a daily basis, it’s not true that you should avoid it all together. Aim to exfoliate at least once a week to keep your skin in its best possible condition all winter long. Your holiday pictures will show whether or not you’ve been naughty or nice to your skin.
