In a world where tragic stories tend take center stage in the media comes the amazing story of some very lucky waitresses, thanks to a kindhearted anonymous customer. The customer was dining at the Boone County Family Restaurant last weekend when, following the meal, she tipped three waitresses working at the establishment $5,000 each – and two of them hadn’t even served her. Talk about paying it forward!
Waitresses Amber Kariolich, Amy Sabani and Sarah Seckinger were talking amongst themselves about their struggle to pay bills and their financial hardships – including possible plans on going back to school – when the customer overheard the conversation. The three were shocked (and immensely grateful!) when the customer presented them with checks that added up to a grand total of $15,000.
“I wasn’t even waiting on her, I was just rolling silverware. We were talking about school and braces and loans and everything that we can’t afford, and she just took it upon herself,” explained Sarah, one of the lucky recipients of the massive tip.
According to the Rockford Register Star, the woman told them, “I want you girls to take these to help with school and everything else in life. Yes, you can take it. You put that in your pocket. God sent me here to help you.”
To say the least, Amber, Amy and Sarah were touched by the kindness of the stranger and, with tears in their eyes, described what they planned to do with the money. Amber and Sarah plan to use the money for their schooling, while Amy, who works two jobs, plans to use the funds to spend more quality time with her young son and save it for him.
