I have heard there are some people who love to exercise. I am not one of them. I am more of an exercise because you need to for your health kind of person. But along the way on my goal to fitness I have found several ways to make exercise more fun.
There are many exercise Dvds that are fun as well as helping you on your goal of getting fit. Some of my favorites are the Sweatin’ To The Oldies, Dancing With The Stars and Walk It Off With George.
If you are a person who thrives on the social aspects of life, you need to take a class. There are so many available options to choose from. I personally LOVE Zumba. You have such a good time you almost forget you are exercising. I have never tried a Spin class but I hear they are the latest and greatest out there. I would certainly be open to it. If you take a class and don’t like it, you don’t have to go back. You won’t lose anything by trying it out and you might just find your niche.
One surefire way to keep yourself on track is to have a workout buddy. What better way to make sure you show up than if you know that someone is waiting on you? It’s a great opportunity to catch up with a dear friend or family member. Some couples work out together.
My personal favorite that I come back to again and again is to read while I walk. Walking is something nearly everyone can do and you have all the equipment you need with you at all times, your legs and feet. Walking is free and convenient. And I love, love, love to read. This gives me an opportunity to spend thirty minutes to an hour a day doing something I love-reading- while doing something I have surprisingly learned to like-walking.
Exercise is good for you but be sure and check with your physician before you begin any type of exercise program.
