Sometimes working out is just too much work. We get it. Sometimes we just want to do something that feels like working out without actually working out. We don’t always have the motivation to hit the gym or go on a run, so we want to do something a bit more relaxing like yoga. To be fair, yoga is an intense form of working out. The good news is that it just does not feel much like a workout because it helps us feel so good in so many ways. It feels far more relaxing than it does like work, and our bodies feel good when we engage in this type of activity. For that reason, we can recommend that when you don’t feel like working out or exercising in a hardcore, fast-paced manner, it’s a good idea to go ahead and go with the yoga flow. It’s still an intense workout, but your body is so relaxed and happy in the midst of this workout that you have no feeling of working out.
Not only will you work your body and your muscles, you will relax your mind and engage your soul. You will feel less stressed, more relaxed and happier as a whole when you take the time to practice yoga. The best news is that you can practice at home, in the office or even in a hotel. You can go to a yoga class or you can practice by yourself. You just need to know which positions are the most beneficial for you when it’s time to practice. We’ve narrowed it down to five that will stretch your most used muscles and make you feel good all the way around.
The Downward Dog
The Sun Salutation
The Warrior
Tree Pose
Forward Fold
Each of these poses is going to allow you to feel good and healthy, and we recommend that you try them at least once a morning and again in the evening to relax your body; and it’s not a problem to do these poses on days you also work out otherwise.
