New Trick To Get Existing Uber Users a $20 Credit

Fackbook Messenger and Uber

Uber users are obsessed with the service, and for good reason. It’s proven to be quite the amazing invention for those who want to get a ride, be safe or find their way home without paying a fortune for a cab, fighting for a cab on the streets of major cities or even trying to figure out where the heck they are in the world so they can get home. Uber allows you to download an app and basically just hit the request a ride button and someone shows up right away to get you home or back to your hotel or wherever it is you want to go. It’s a great concept we should all take more advantage of. On that note, we also have a trick that is going to help existing Uber users get a free $20 credit – and we all love free rides, right?

Get a Free Uber Ride

All you’re going to need for this is a Facebook account, Facebook messenger and an Uber account. It’s really simple to get a free ride when you do it through your Facebook messenger account, and it’s going to work for only existing Uber members. Now that Uber and Facebook have teamed up, there is a new transportation option in the Facebook messenger app (if you don’t see it yet, wait a few weeks until the platform has been completely released…it will be there soon, we promise). Use the option to hail an Uber ride and you will get a free $20 credit toward that ride. It’s a simple process, but you have to do it correctly so that it actually works. Otherwise, you’re going to find that the ride you thought would be free is not, and that might not make you feel very good when it’s time to pay up and end the ride.

How to Do It

  1. Get all the apps necessary to make this work – Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Uber (or upgrade to the latest version of all)
  2. Open the messages as if you are going to write a new message to an old friend – but don’t. Scroll down to the bottom right corner where you will see an option for “More” (three small dots) and click on that. It will bring up an option marked “Transportation,” that you need to click on, and you will then follow instructions given to you by Facebook messenger to link this to your Uber account.
  3. Get a ride through the messenger and your next ride will be given a $20 credit linked directly to your Uber account.

Another simple tip we have for you is to go ahead and sign up for Uber if you don’t have it already. You can get a referral code from a friend for a free ride, use it and then use the Messenger app through Facebook to get a second free ride. There; you’re just a free riding Uber user like everyone aspires to become.
