3 Easy Ways To Make Money At Home

make money at home

Whoever said money can’t buy happiness obviously never wore a pair of Christian Louboutin stilettos (really, I’m almost not even kidding about this one). Money can’t buy happiness. Money buys material possessions, which are nice, but they don’t create happiness. Money does however, do a great job a buying peace of mind. Who doesn’t feel calm and at ease knowing your mortgage is paid, your insurance is paid and you always have food on the table? That said, there’s nothing wrong with finding a little extra money around the house to cover an unexpected expense or simply to treat yourself to a little something special.

I’m not talking about a few quarters under the cushion or a dollar in the laundry. I’m talking about a significant amount of money that you can use to pad your emergency fund, take a much-needed vacation or pay for the braces your pre-teen will undoubtedly hate you for (she can thank dad’s side of the family since you aren’t taking credit for that genetic trait).

Negotiation

The art of negotiation can save you a bundle. That $100+ cable and internet bill you pay for is actually negotiable. All you have to do is call your provider and let them know you’re taking your business elsewhere. Fill them in on the extra savings, extra packages and options you will receive from your new service provider and more often than not you will find that your cable provider is more than happy to offer you a few extras a no cost or lower your bill to a discounted plan. It could save you several hundred dollars a year.

Sell Your Clothes On Poshmark

Forget about using the local thrift store. Download the Poshmark app and set up your own store where you can sell your clothes, shoes, and handbags. Open up your closet and pull out everything you haven’t worn in a year, and you’ll probably find hundreds, if not thousands of dollars of merchandise. Use the app to take photos of everything, post them in your Poshmark Closet, and then once someone buys it you’ll get a notification along with a pre-paid shipping label to mail the item.

Sell Electronics to Gazelle

Electronics (these days) are like last month’s issue of Vogue – out with the old and in with the new. That old iPhone or Blackberry may have been glued to your palm last month, but your new one is sleeker, faster and much cooler, and there is nothing wrong with that. Except, of course, for that drawer full of old phones, laptops and tablets taking up space in the guestroom. Since you don’t want to see yourself on the next episode of “Hoarders” watching as the world cringes over the discovery of your lost pet turtle beneath that pile of discarded MacBooks.

Sell them for cash on Gazelle.com. Simply visit the site, let them know what gadgets you have, ship them and get paid. Really – it’s that easy. In the past 12 months, Gazelle users have earned as much as $400 for Apple computers, $235 for iPads and as much as $64 for that old Blackberry. Who knew that old track ball on that old Blackberry was just a new outfit for your next date in disguise?
