There are few things in life that are as irritating as tracking down an ATM and then standing there while you dig through a giant handbag to find your wallet so you can retrieve your ATM card and get the cash that you need for whatever it is you are doing. Add a little bit of irritation to that when you realize that when you left whatever you did last, you just tossed your ATM card into your bag without actually putting it back in your wallet. Now you are left without a card in your wallet and a giant bag filled with a million things you have to sort through and a line of people behind you becoming increasingly irritated.
It’s the life of most women when they are in a hurry or when they have kids or are traveling, or just when it’s a Tuesday. Fortunately for us, someone somewhere recognizes the struggle and wants us to know that some of the biggest banks in the world are actually looking to introduce new ATMs that don’t require using your card. These new machines will allow you to use your smart phone as a type of withdrawal method, meaning ATM withdrawals just got that much easier.
Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo are the banks currently trying out this program. Over the course of the next few weeks, choice cities will see these new ATMs going in and users will be able to try them out on a sort of trial basis. Seeing how it goes, the banks will then make a decision as to whether or not this is the new wave of future banking and many of us might be able to get rid of our debit cards all together. It does make sense with so many other mobile payment options, and we are appreciative of this new feature.
