Choosing where to get married is one of the most important aspects of planning your wedding. Yes, it might be less expensive to get married in your mother-in-law’s lovely backyard, but it isn’t going to be fun listening to her dictate the rest of your plans since she’s the one hosting your party. And it might be fun to have a beach wedding wearing a gorgeous, light gown. You have to consider a lot, but you don’t need to sacrifice anything.
Location
The perfect location might be that castle in Ireland, but chances are good your friends don’t love you enough to spend that kind of money and time on your wedding. Well, maybe they do, but maybe they don’t have that kind of money or that kind of time. Something closer to home with everything you want could be all that you need. You have to consider where you’re getting married when you make your guest list, or you might not have the people you want at your wedding.
How Much You Get
When choosing a venue in which to get married or hold your reception, you have to figure out how much you’re getting for your money. Spending $10,000 on a wedding venue is perfect if it includes the music, food, wait staff, and everything else. If it’s just the venue and everything else is extra, it’s not the best idea.
Size Does Matter
Where you get married has to be big enough or intimate enough for your guests. You don’t want to get married in a small, intimate venue in which you can fit 50 guests but you want to invite 130. You have to choose the right size.
