Ever wake up in the morning and think to yourself that today is just going to be one of those days? We all do it, but it’s a terrible tone to begin your day with. It would be helpful if we all bounded out of bed with a smile on our faces, no fatigue in our eyes and faced the day with confidence and happiness, but without coffee in an IV, that’s almost impossible. If your day starts off on the wrong tone (as they just do from time to time), use these tips to help you change the tone and have a good day.
Get Outside
Sometimes all it takes is to realize that the day is beautiful and that life is, too. Head outside and take in the view of the sun rising or the trees swaying in the breeze. Breathe in the fresh air and check out the blooming flowers or the changing colors of the leaves. Let the stress-relieving chemicals flood your brain as the sunlight helps it along and remember that even though you’re having a bad day, the world is still going on and you’re lucky to be here today.
Slow Down
Sometimes when your stress overwhelms you it becomes very easy to feel that the tone of your day is a negative one. However, if you take a few seconds to slow down and prioritize, you might realize that some of the stuff on your seemingly never-ending to-do list can actually be put off for a little while so that you can slow down, relax, and reevaluate your day.
Count Your Blessings
Sometimes the best way to reevaluate the tone of your day is to spend five minutes with a pen in hand writing down all your blessings. Even the worst of days can be turned around by the realization that you have an awful lot to be thankful for. The bonus part of this is that you can look at this list every single day and help yourself feel a lot better.
