Packing for vacation, whether it is for business or pleasure, is a real pain. No matter where you are going or how long you will be gone, it always seems that you’ve over packed. You have no idea what you will really need because it’s a transitional season and the weather could be freezing or it could be gorgeous. You don’t know where to put your shoes and how the heck are you supposed to pack those beach hats without flattening them? Here are a few pieces of packing advice that will make you wonder why you didn’t think of that.
Jewelry
Nothing is more frustrating that getting to your final destination, dressing for dinner, and realizing that all of your jewelry is tangled together in one giant ball of shiny mess thanks to your packing skills. One way to eliminate this problem is to loop your necklaces through a straw. By placing the necklace through the straw and then clasping it on the other end, you will eliminate this problem.
Shoes
It’s difficult to pack shoes. For this reason, it’s a better idea to plan your entire travel wardrobe around as few pair of shoes as possible. I know you’re dying to wear that one specific dress to dinner one night, but if it’s the only thing you have that goes with those bright yellow heels, don’t pack it. You don’t need to take up luggage space for one pair of shoes.
Hats
It is awful to unpack and realize that your gorgeous floppy hats are all smashed and a mess. It’s so hard to get them back into shape after that. The solution is simple. Pile the hats on top of one another and fill the head of the bottom hat with panties and bras or swimsuits or something. Place this on the bottom of your luggage and pack around it.
