Time is money; we know this. With that knowledge, which is powerful knowledge, why is it we waste so much of our time? I can attest to the fact that wasted time really does kill your day and make you less productive. When you are less productive, you lose money. You lose time. You lose focus and you lose the ability to control your own day, time and finances. This is precisely why we work so hard to ensure that we are able to manage our time with dignity and great effort, and it saves us money. Perhaps using our time more wisely actually allows us to make more money. If you’re finding that you are not productive enough and you are wasting both time and money, we have a few tips that might help you curb your wasted time.
Leave your phone elsewhere
If you find that every ping, vibration or notification stops you in your tracks and makes you check your phone, put it elsewhere. Additionally, you need to get rid of all social media browsers on your actual desktop or laptop or iPad, too. It’s a huge waste of time to have that stuff there at your beck and call. Designate a time to check and gain time in your day.
Get up with the alarm
There is nothing I’d rather do at 5 am every single weekday morning than tell my husband to hit the snooze button so I can go back to sleep for a few minutes, but I don’t. I don’t because that 10 minutes is time I don’t have to enjoy a quiet house so I can work or get ready without my kids awake. Get up and see just how much more productive you really are.
Take a break
It sounds exactly like what you don’t want to do, but it’s what you want to do. Unchain yourself from your desk and get up. The more you get up and get a break, the more motivated you become. When you sit down and allow yourself to become overworked, tired and unmotivated. Take a break to refresh your mind and get yourself in check.
