At some point, we all wake up in the morning and think that today is the day we are going to start being the best version of ourselves possible by making small changes. There’s nothing wrong with making small changes, but we often don’t know exactly how to do that. Here are three small changes we could all stand to make to our daily lives. Each one will go a long way to helping us become the kind of person living the kind of happiness we all dream of.
Take it Slow
Stop rushing. If there’s one thing we all spend too much time doing on a daily basis, it’s rushing. We wake up with enough time to do what needs to be done and get out of the house. We don’t take the time to stop and smell the roses or watch as the sun rises or just sit down and enjoy the flavor and aroma of our coffee. We’re too busy trying to cram as much as possible into our day that we forget to actually live it. Let’s all take a minute to slow down.
Smile
How many people do you see actually smiling on a regular basis? Not that many. Instead of walking around with a purposeful look on your face or a frown because there’s not enough time or whatever, try to just smile. Smile at sales clerks. Smile at baristas. Smile at your friends, family and coworkers. Smile at a few strangers. Just smile.
Appreciate
When someone hands you something, holds the door for you or wishes you a lovely day, just appreciate it. Say thank you. It’s a powerful phrase that can do wonders for all involved. When others hear you appreciate them, they love it. When you see their smile at your thanks, you love it.
