If you are anything like me, you cannot splurge on electronics for yourself. My husband is happy to have the best of the best of everything when it comes to his own electronics, but I don’t like change when it comes to my laptop. I spend most of the day with this machine, and I like the comfort of it as it is an old friend. Unfortunately, I’m hard on this thing. And that means he’s bringing me a new one every time I turn around because I’ve done something horrible to my current laptop. In all honesty, I swear the Gods of laptops hate me because they just die and never come back on again and it has nothing to do with me. However, this is a dangerous moment in my life, because this thing has everything on it. And I don’t like my husband spending thousands on new computers for me, because I know they will not last. So I ask that he always finds a really good cheap one for me – which he hates. But at this point, I already know what the best cheap laptop is, because I’m going to drop it, break it, or destroy it somehow in the next 6 months, so I might as well know. And I’m going to share with you the key to the best cheap laptop.
Dell
That’s right. If you’re going to buy a cheap laptop, go with a Dell. I love mine, and they last until the second I drop them and then pretend that something terrible happened to it so that my husband doesn’t give that look of incredulousness that I can be so careless and childlike (don’t judge me). The Dell Inspiron is always my favorite, and even though it does change, I still find that I like it better than other laptops on the market if you’re looking for something that’s affordable. It’s not the cheapest, but it is under $400, and that seems pretty reasonable to me.
