One of the most important things to know before buying a car is its level of safety. The level of safety can vary based on price, but we’ve attempted to normalize this in our ranking of the safest car brands in the World. These rankings were established utilizing data from IIHS, US News, Global Car Brands, and Kelly Blue Book.

As for our methodology, we first evaluated the general safety ratings given to brands by their customers. We also accounted for the IIHS safety pick ratings, road test scores, and reliability scores. There was plenty of data to evaluate, and we’ve transformed it into something easy for anyone of driving age to understand. However, you should understand that no matter the safety rating of your car is, it is more important that you stay alert whenever you drive in order to avoid accidents. Chevrolet is ranked number 20 with an overall score of 64 and a road test score of 73. They have a four-star safety rating from their customers. The Chevrolet cars come with a post-collision system offering, most of their vehicles come equipped with the system safety offering.

Most owners described their Chevrolet cars as classy and safe. Most of the owners love the SUVs which are used as family cars and are great for the family that spends their weekends carpooling to children’s sporting events.

The Acura brand has an average score of 64 and a road test score of 73 which was quite low. The brand has tried to develop vehicles with an exceptional safety performance compared to other brands. Approximately 73 percent of their brands got a five-star for overall safety rating. Moreover, most of their cars earned a Top Safety Pick making them one of the safest car brands.

#18. Scion

This car brand is ranked number 18, having an overall score of 65 and a road test core of 62 which was quite good compared to the average reliability rating. They have tried to give their vehicles some safety offering to try save lives in case of accidents, they have a pre-collision safety system. An average of 45 percent of their vehicles come equipped with this safety system.

Lincoln Navigator Safest Car Brand

#17. Lincoln

American manufacturer Lincoln has quite an impressive rating with the Top Safety Picking Rating. Lincoln has an overall score of 65 and a road test score of 75. The brand is ranked number 17. Customers described the vehicles as having plusher models that are well equipped. A number of the recent models possess competent ride and handling.

At least 33 percent of its model vehicles come with a blind-spot monitoring, which is a safety system, which is quite high compared to other brands of vehicles which have an average of 17 percent for their luxury brands.

The Ford car brand checks in at number 16 with an average reliability rating, overall score of 66 and a road test score of 74. The Ford vehicles were described by customers to have a firm crisping handle with a solid feel and an absorbent ride.

In addition to that, a large number of their vehicles have earned a five-star safety rating.
