Dreaming of things you want is not the same thing as setting goals. At the same time, setting goals is not the same thing as pursuing and achieving goals. When you want something bad enough you will find a way to get it, but sitting around thinking about it is not the way to achieve that. Goal-setting is simple. However, you have to use your own power actually achieve those goals and make your dreams a reality.
Want What You Want
When you want something, you know it. It’s all you can think about. It’s all you can plan for. It’s all that ever was for you. However, wishing you can have it is a big difference between working to get it. You have to want something, and you have to want it badly. When you can focus on that want, you will make it possible for your mind to go into goal-achieving mode.
It’s a Fight
You need to understand that achieving your goals is not always going to be simple. If it is that easy, your goal wasn’t big enough. Everything worth having is worth fighting for and if you can prepare yourself for the fight, you are already ahead of the game. No one ever succeeded without first being told no. Know that. Accept that.
The only way you will ever reach your goal is to be specific. You cannot just say, “My goal is to be rich.” You need to know exactly how you will accomplish that. You need to say, “My goal is to be rich selling houses to the rich and famous.” Without a specific goal, you will not accomplish any goal.
Sometimes your goals make you have to sacrifice. You might have to miss out on vacations with your friends or driving that luxury car because you have to save every dime you ever made. You have to know what’s going to happen and you have to make those sacrifices.
