Saving money and still looking fabulous don’t seem much like friends, but you can really be a budget beauty in the fashion industry. Sure, designers tell you that you have to wear something different every single season. They tell you that what you’re wearing now can only be worn once and then never discussed or looked at again. That’s not true. You can do whatever you want, because true style comes from within. Of course, that’s a lot easier said than done with the fashion industry is shoving so many beautiful, expensive pieces of clothing, accessories and beauty products down our throats at every given opportunity. We love fashion as much as the next woman, but we also love saving money. And that means we do what we can to save so we can still look good. And we have provided you with a list of fashion rules you can tear up and burn, because ignoring them is going to make your wallet just a little bit fatter.
Don’t Mix and Match
Girl, you can do whatever you want. You are the style maven in your life; no one else. If you want to wear rose gold and silver together, wear it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t mix and match your prints, fabrics and metals. We do it all the time, and the result is always amazing. And it’s going to save you a bundle since you don’t have to go out and buy all new jewelry to match that new rose gold watch under the tree.
No White After Labor Day
If you really still abide by this rule, you have lost your mind. White is gorgeous, and winter white is even more gorgeous. Don’t ignore all the white in your closet just because someone you don’t even know told you a million years ago it’s not acceptable to wear post-September. White is gorgeous; wear it. It’s giving you a whole new winter wardrobe to break that stuff back out.
Don’t Wear Last Season’s Pieces
Wear them; wear whatever you want. And here is a bit of advice to take this bit of advice a bit further (do you follow?); if you buy timeless, classic pieces in lieu of trendy pieces, you can wear them for many seasons. We love classic pieces that you might spend a bit more money on because it means you will get to wear them longer as they are quality pieces that never go out of style. If you have a gorgeous LBD that’s well made and not trendy, you can wear it for decades.
