Get Rid Of Bitterness And Discontentment For Good

Discontentment can ruin your normally wonderful personality and affect many of your relationships if you are not careful.  Worse yet, an attitude of discontentment can ruin your happiness.

What is discontentment?  Discontentment means that you are not satisfied with the things you have in your life.  It means that you spend more time thinking of what you don’t have than remembering all that you do.  If you do this long enough, you will find that you begin getting a little bitter, as well. And no one wants to be around a person that is bitter.

We all have things that we want.  It can be material things or even things that we would like to have in our careers or relationships.  The point is that if you are spending your time mourning over and longing for what you don’t have, you are missing out on the many wonderful things that are part of your life.  You only live once, why not be happy?

Breaking a attitude of discontentment is something that takes awhile.  Just like it took awhile for you to become bitter and so negative, it will take awhile to retrain yourself to be thankful and positive.

You can start by making it a point to think of three to five things you are thankful for each day.  If it helps you, write them down in a journal.  After some time passes, you will be able to look back and think of all of the blessings that you have in your life.

Make an effort to be kind to others.  Give compliments to others.  Why not?  They are free and make others feel good as well as the person giving them.
