If there is one thing that makes people crazy, it’s those who are not punctual (even those who aren’t usually on time themselves have an issue when others aren’t on time either). Being on time is not something that comes naturally to some and not to others. It’s a habit. Once you take it into consideration and make it a habit of your own, you’ll stop annoying others, appearing unprofessional and making others feel that you view their time as less than important. If you want to be on time, here are a few tricks to help you out.

Get Organized

If you cannot get out of the house in the morning in a timely fashion, perhaps it’s because your organizational skills are lacking. Try to get organized. You’ll find it easy to be punctual when you have an organized routine that includes everything from knowing where to find what you want to knowing that your home is in order before you leave.

Set a Schedule

If you know it takes you 15 minutes to get somewhere, give yourself 20 to 25. For example, if your kids start school at 9:00 and it takes 15 minutes to drive there and drop them off, make it a habit to leave at 8:35 instead of 8:45. This gives you a schedule with a bit of a buffer so that when things don’t go your way (forgotten lunchboxes, where are my keys, how come I can’t find my shoe, oh no I just spilled juice on my outfit…) you have a few extra minutes to handle them with grace and still be punctual.

Don’t Procrastinate

Sorry, but that last life on your candy crush game will just have to wait if you want to get out of the house on time. Procrastination is the killer of productivity. If you want to arrive on time, don’t wait to the last minute to get yourself prepared. Do it immediately.
