Advice is everywhere, but there are three pieces of it that can really change your life. These three pieces of advice are for everyone; people of every age, race, religion, sex and belief. You’ll use this advice from the time you are a child until your very last breath. No matter what else you learn, experience and hear as you age, these three pieces of advice might be the best pieces of advice you’ll ever hear.
If It Feels Wrong, Don’t Do It
If something feels wrong, it’s because either your brain or your gut know it’s wrong. What does that mean? That means don’t do it. When you do something despite the fact that it just feels wrong, you have to live with the guilt and regret of choosing to go through with it. When something feels wrong, it’s because it is. It might be hurtful, spiteful or impulsive.
Say No
You don’t always have to say yes to people just because they expect it of you. This makes you a people pleaser. Instead of being a people pleaser, be a realist; you can’t please everyone so don’t try. The moment you start trying to please others is the moment in which you lose sight of your own life. You’ll start to live for everyone but yourself and that’s not the way life is supposed to be lived; and that’s real advice.
Say Yes
Just like learning to say no, you have to learn to say yes. You have to learn to say yes to things that terrify and scare you. You have to say yes to things you want to do but are too afraid to do. Saying yes is a way of opening up your life and your opportunities. You have no idea just which experience you say yes to is the one that’s going to change your life forever. Take my advice; learn to say yes to things even if they seem really scary and overwhelming.
