Weddings are supposed to be fun and fantastic, but not everyone knows exactly how to behave at a wedding. It may seem like common sense, but some wedding guests are just a little too out of the loop to understand exactly what appropriate wedding guest behavior entails. We are not saying you don’t know how to behave at a wedding, but many don’t, which is why we are providing this list of things you should never do when at a wedding.
Make Comments During the Ceremony
Whether you are a friend, family member, or part of the wedding party it is absolutely not okay, funny, or at all appropriate to make any comments during the ceremony. No “Last Chance!”, “You sure about this?” or snickering at all is okay.
Sampling the Cake
Believe it or not, there are people who have no idea how unsanitary and rude it is to put their fingers in the wedding cake. It is the center of attention throughout the reception and it should not be touched by anyone but the bride, groom, and caterer.
Drink Too Much
This is a classy affair, not a frat party. If you can’t handle your alcohol or you don’t know when to stop: Don’t start.
Wear White
It’s not your day, sweetie. I don’t care if white is your color and your favorite dress in the world is white, you better not wear it to someone’s wedding, ever.
Let Your Kids Run Wild
There is no place in a wedding or reception for a crying baby. Remove the baby from the situation or remove yourself and the baby from the room until baby calms down. Also, don’t allow your kids to run rampant during the reception either.
Ask the DJ to Change the Music
It isn’t your wedding so don’t ask the DJ to make it yours. The bride and groom chose the music, which means you need to suck it up or go home.
