Three Yoga Moves That Will Cheer You Up

Even if you’ve never tried yoga, you know that it is great for your body and your mind. It helps you to relax, it builds your strength, and it works your muscles by using your own body weight to do it. Not only will you feel and look better if you take up yoga, which you can do from home if you don’t want to – or can’t – join a class, you will also improve your mood completely. The next time you’re feeling particularly grouchy and unpleasant, try doing one of three yoga moves that will turn your frown upside down and make you much happier.

Downward Facing Dog

This move is simple, and you can do it just about anywhere from your living room to your office to your back yard. Place your hands on the floor in front of you, with your arms straight and keep your feet flat on the floor behind you, with your butt up in the air. Take five deep breaths and repeat.

Plank

Get on all fours and place your hands flat on the floor beneath you. Slowly move your legs backward until they are both straight and your toes and hands on the only things holding you up. Tighten your abs and count to five, and repeat.

Legs On the Wall

Lie on the floor on your back with your butt up against the wall. Stretch your legs until they are straight up the wall and place your arms straight beside your body. Take a deep breath and count to ten, and release. Repeat several times for the best results.
