There are more than 10 sports you can still play after age 50. It is wise though to pick a few that are low-impact and less stressful.
Golf
It’s perfectly acceptable to ride in the golf cart at this age. But if you’re still up and mobile, this is a good chance to take a long, somewhat challenging walk.
Pickleball
Granted, you still need to be in shape for some sports, but taking it at your pace is easy. Plus, there are leagues for this type of sport.
Tennis
You can still play tennis at an advanced age. You just take it easy and don’t try to murder the ball. Just have fun with it.
Swimming
For people of all ages, this is a great sport to engage in. It’s still tough, but it challenges your body while offering maximum comfort.
Biking
If your knees are up to it you can still pedal a bike. Mind that you listen to your body though.
Bowling
Yes, bowling is a sport. It’s also one that’s less impactful and can allow for a little more relaxation and less need for serious competition.
Track and Field
There are Track and Field meets that cater to people of all ages, believe it or not. If you can keep yourself in shape, these are a lot of fun.
Basketball
Can you still dribble a ball? Can you jog up and down the court? Then you can still play basketball.
Handball
This is a little more challenging but it’s just as much fun. Wear the braces you need for your knees and wrists though, if you need them.
Racquetball
If you’ve ever been to a health club then you’ve seen that people of all ages enjoy this game. A lot of them are well over 50.
