Now that the holiday season is over it’s time to focus on getting that body back in shape. While you might have a long list of resolutions designed to help you do just that, it’s not going to be easy if you’re one of the many people making excuses that will prevent you from getting your body in shape. Perhaps you think you’re not the kind of person who makes excuses about your body, but you might be. Here are a few of the most common excuses to get rid of stat.
I’ll Just Have a Bite
I only had three chocolate kisses and a bite of that mac and cheese and a half glass of wine and…the list goes on and on. If your mindless munching is something you rationalize with thoughts of this nature, it’s time for you to get a reality check and stop making excuses. Everything you put into your mouth either helps you or hurts you. Don’t make excuses for any of it.
I Worked Out Today
Good for you for working out today! Now shame on you for using that workout as an excuse to eat whatever you want without feeling guilty. The point of working out is not to make you feel better about eating poorly, it’s to make you healthier. Go ahead and work out; then take a few minutes to make yourself a healthy, hearty meal that won’t cause you to make excuses for your poor behavior.
I Had a Rough Day
We all have rough days (in fact, I’ve had six solid months of rough days being constantly sick, exhausted and on bed rest because I’m pregnant with twins and I’ve had no break from any of it) but it’s no excuse for eating badly and putting your health in jeopardy. In fact, when you eat unhealthy items on a bad day, you’re just making your day worse. Choose something healthy and give yourself a reason to feel better about your rough day.
