Who doesn’t love a warm cinnamon roll fresh from the oven to start their day? I know I do, but the act of making fresh cinnamon rolls is daunting. You’d have to wake-up at 3am just to enjoy the rolls by the time the kids are heading out the door. So, when I stumbled upon a recipe for Cinnamon Toast Rolls from Circle B’s Kitchen I was smitten. I whipped up a batch and my boys were gobbling down cinnamon rolls, on a weekday (gasp!). This recipe is one part cinnamon toast and one part cinnamon roll, but 100% delicious.
Weekday Morning Cinnamon Rolls
Rolls
Fresh, soft white bread (a slice per roll-up)
Melted Butter
Cinnamon Sugar
Icing
Powdered Sugar
Milk
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Cut the crusts from the bread and roll thin with a rolling pin. Brush melted butter on both sides of the flattened bread then sprinkle one side with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Make sure to cover the side well.
To Roll: Fold each end of the bread to the middle and then roll length-wise. Place in a mini-muffin tin and sprinkle the tops with a little more cinnamon sugar.
Place in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until the edges are turning golden brown. Remove from the oven and drizzle with icing.
