It’s fun to look back at 30 vintage snacks of the 1980s. Some are still popular today, but others kind of faded out.
Jello-O Pudding Pops

There’s always room for Jell-O, right? These popular sweets used to be found in a lot of people’s freezers back in the day.
Fruit Roll-Ups

It sounds fair to state that a lot of kids lit up when they saw these suddenly appear in their parents’ hands. Of course, too many of them could cause a serious bellyache, and they were addictive.
Pop Rocks

Remember the urban legend about pop rocks and soda? Yeah, it’s bogus, but it’s still not a great combination unless you like that kind of thing.
Micro Magic Milkshakes

Something about tossing a milkshake in the microwave to enjoy it doesn’t sound right. But back in the 80s, this was a nice treat.
Bonkers Fruit Chews

Essentially these are fruit chews that relied heavily on their marketing gimmicks. In all honesty, they were good, but they’re just another fruit snack.
Hi-C Ecto Cooler

You’ve got to remember that Ghostbusters was a big thing in the 80s. Today this drink still works since the franchise is making an impressive comeback.
Cheetos Paws

Several of these vintage snacks are still around, even if they’ve changed slightly over the years. Cheetos is a brand name that feels like it’s not going anywhere.
Planters Cheez Balls

As an alternative to the bigger cheese puffs and harder Cheetos, this is a pleasing snack that’s incredibly addictive. But at parties, it was always one of the snacks that disappeared quickly.
Keebler Magic Middles

The texture of the cookie and the fudgy center combined to make a great treat. It was possible to get tired of these cookies, but it took a few to make that happen.
Teddy Grahams

As another of the vintage snacks that are still around, Teddy Grahams are a fun treat for kids, and something to munch on if you have nothing else. There’s not much to them really, but they can satisfy your hunger.
Shark Bites

You can still find these in a lot of stores, but they were a fun treat back in the day. The blue-topped gummy sharks have a lot of sugar in them, but in moderation, they’re pretty good.
Hubba Bubba Soda

There’s a fine line between good taste and a serious mistake, and this soda kind of flirted with it. The drink wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t all that great either.
Oatmeal Swirlers

This breakfast food felt like it was designed more for kids who needed a little extra encouragement to eat in the morning. Nothing says good like a fruity swirl in your otherwise bland oatmeal, right?
Nerds

Yes, these are still around thank goodness, but man are they sugary. Back in the day, they were a great treat to enjoy while watching a movie, even if they were a little on the loud side when shaking them from the box.
Bubble Tape

Be honest. Who tried to chew an entire roll of this stuff? The bubblegum wasn’t that great until other flavors started showing up, but it was fun to chew all the same.
Dunkaroos

The different shapes made these cookies fun, but the frosting dip is pure sugar. Does anyone wonder why some of us had so many cavities growing up?
Triple Power Push Pops

They look like anything other than lollipops, but these triple-flavored treats were great since you could save them in their tube if you didn’t want to eat the whole thing. Plus, the different flavors stacked on each other were cool.
Slice Soda

There was a little fruit juice in these sodas, just not much. Being owned by PepsiCo though, are you really surprised?
Hostess Pudding Pies

This was kind of like a crustier Boston creme pie, and even though the picture showed it filled to the brim, it wasn’t always like that. Maybe one out of fifty would be filled, while the others had massive air pockets that left a lot of consumers disappointed.
Dr. Pepper Gum

This vintage snack was interesting since it had a liquid center that tasted just like Dr. Pepper. Other flavors came too, such as 7-Up, but sadly it was discontinued.
Original New York Seltzer

These drinks were highly addictive since they tasted like the flavors that were listed on the label, and they were actually good. Unfortunately, they were also very loaded with sodium, and more than one or two formed a habit.
Squeezits

If you were a kid in the 80s these plastic drink bottles were a lot of fun since they were a cool treat in the summer. Unfortunately, when they came out with characters and started a deep dive into their backstories it kind of ruined the fun.
Giggles Cookies

These were meant to be fun, but instead, they were kind of creepy. Not only that, but the fact that they were only filled with fudge or vanilla filling was kind of boring.
Smurfberry Crunch Cereal

The Smurfs were another big name in the 80s that many people remember fondly. And yes, they did have their own cereal, among other products.
Funny Feet Ice Cream

The ice cream was good, there’s no doubt of that. But the shape was odd, which fit in with the 80s perfectly.
Dixies Snack Crackers

The thing about this is that there have been plenty of chicken-flavored crackers, but these were unique thanks to their shape. Drumstick-shaped crackers are kind of fun.
Fat Frog Ice Cream

Thank Ireland for this odd treat. Seriously though, it was tasty, and the gumball eyes were a nice touch.
Care Bear Waffles

How many people remember the Care Bears? In the 80s they were still cool, now they’re just a fond memory, along with their waffles.
Pepperidge Farm Star Wars Cookies

In every era people have tried to cash in on Star Wars, and Pepperidge Farm was no different. There were several recognizable shapes and three flavors, and they were pretty good.
Fruit Wrinkles

These looked like raisins but were actually little wrinkled fruit snack bites. It was way too easy to eat one packet after another and never get full.
