A Short List of Five Negative Calorie Foods

Many people are wondering what exactly a negative calorie food really is. They’re not necessarily the kind of foods that don’t contain calories. They’re the kinds of foods that take more calories to consume than they contain. For example, a negative calorie food might actually have calories, but your body uses more energy to digest that food burning more calories in the process than the food contained in the first place. If you’re not consuming negative calorie foods, it’s time to start.

Each of the negative calorie foods on this list do contain actual calories. They’re not calorie-free foods. Essentially, this is a long list of fruit and vegetables that are healthy for your lifestyle. A list of some of the tastiest negative calorie foods include: Celery, Apricots. Lettuce, Tomatoes, Apples, Watermelon,  Cauliflower,Zucchini,Carrots,Grapefruit, Strawberries, Oranges, Cucumbers

It’s important to remember that while these are great foods to eat, they’re not something you can live on. Many people who hear about negative calorie foods believe that they can change their entire diet to consist of nothing but these items. While they are fruits and vegetables that are healthy to eat, malnutrition will occur if you change your diet to include only these items. You should still eat a diet that consists of the numerous items you need to live. However, you can always incorporate a few more of these negative calorie foods into your daily diet.

To use negative calorie foods to your advantage, try replacing your daily snacks with items on this list. For example, if you’re always hungry in between lunch and dinner, snack on a bowl of fruits on this list or a container of cucumbers and tomatoes with a bit of balsamic vinegar on top. You’ll fill up quickly and satisfy your hunger, but you won’t gain any weight.
