My lasagna recipe wows company every time I fix it. It is simple and easy to throw together. Every time I fix it, I receive compliments so if you are looking for a new lasagna recipe or recipe to fix when you are going to entertain guests, this is your go to recipe.
First, you need to shop for your ingredients. You will need one 16 oz can of tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, oregano, parsley flakes, 1 onion, 1 green pepper, 1 pound of ground chuck, a box of lasagna noodles, 16 oz cottage cheese, 16 oz sour cream, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese and a bag of pepperoni.
The first thing you do is cut up your green pepper and onion and cook with the ground chuck until the hamburger is browned. Drain fat off. In the meantime, boil 9 lasagna noodles until they are done. Add 1/8 tsp of all of the seasonings and a can of tomato paste. Mix the cottage cheese and sour cream and salt and pepper it
Layer in this order: lasagna noodles, meat mixture, cheese mixture, pepperoni. Do this twice, finishing with lasagna noodles on top. Then pour the two cups of mozzarella cheese on top and put in the oven on 350 until all the cheese is melted. It will probably be bubbling around the edges.
I serve this with garlic bread. New York Texas Toast bread sticks are a favorite in our family. It takes 2 boxes of these for our family of four or 3 boxes if we are having company. I also like to serve a salad with this.
For dessert, tiramisu is a hit with this meal. I also serve up a strawberry pie. The meal is a choice that is very filling so I tend to choose a dessert that is somewhat on the light side to balance it out.
