Pasta is the most delicious devil in the food industry. Some people have a sweet tooth, but there are people like me who crave pasta like it’s going out of style. It’s so good, but it’s so bad for us. It’s not bad in moderation, of course, but when you’re trying to minimize your pasta intake, it can be a bit of a struggle. And the struggle, friends, is quite real. Pasta is a comfort food. It’s the comfort food of all comfort foods, probably because it’s a carb and carbs are amazingly delicious. So what are you supposed to do when you want nothing more than pasta but you can’t have it? Perhaps you’ve met your pasta quota for the week or perhaps you’re just dieting hardcore at the moment. Either way, we have a few pasta alternatives for when you’re craving this particular dish.
I love quinoa, and so does just about everyone I know. It’s healthy, light and good and it’s a great alternative to the less healthy and but deliciously tasteful pasta we all love to eat.
You can shred it and cook it and add it to your favorite dishes to make it into your own healthy version of pasta without actually consuming all the unhealthy stuff that goes along with pasta.
Brown Rice Pasta
It’s kind of a combination of brown rice and pasta, but it’s far healthier than some of the other dishes that you might eat when you decide to make a pasta dish. You can turn it into just about anything you want, too.
It’s good. You might not think it sounds good, but it really is good. Believe me, we were skeptics about this one, too, but it’s worth its weight in gold to eat this delicious and decadent meal. We promise you will love everything about it.
Without any fat or calories – or very few we should mention – these protein packed noodles are actually a lot better than they sound. And they’re a lot healthier than traditional pasta.
