Have you ever noticed how expensive it is to purchase a picture frame? They’re not exactly cheap these days, and many of us are a little surprised by the cost of something we think shouldn’t cost so much. The good news is that you do not have to spend a fortune to get frames that match your home or your décor. You can actually take the cheapest of wood frames and turn them into what you want in your home using a very simple DIY method that I use all the time. It’s simple, it’s inexpensive and it always turns out looking so much chicer than you expect. It’s called a DIY picture frame, and all you need is a cheap wooden frame that costs you a few dollars, some paint and a little bit of time. We’ll tell you how to do it and you will find yourself making a lot of these in no time at all.
Take your frame apart. All you want is the actual frame, and you want to put the glass and inserts elsewhere. You’ll want to lay the frame flat on a piece of newspaper or an old towel and you will want to get either spray paint or regular paint and evenly coat the entire frame the color you want. After the frame is dry, you’ll want to turn it over and do the same thing to the opposite side, allow it to dry and then go for it once again.
Now, that was easy, was it not? The next best thing you can do is ensure that you choose colors you love. For kid rooms, you can use multiple colors on each side. For main areas of the house, we recommend you use a rich chocolate, a rich gold or a very pure white. These make the frames look more expensive and more elaborate.
