Do you live near a Bruegger’s Bagels? If you do, you might want to consider heading over there and buying one of their bottomless coffee mugs. No, it is not a mug without a bottom. It’s a mug that allows you to pay for it now and receive free refills – for a year. Let’s do some math (I know, I know; I hate math, too). That’s 365 cups of coffee (tea or soda) for a year. No, that’s not accurate; Bruegger’s will refill this mug free of charge anytime you want it refilled, even if you are there for 7 hours working one day because your husband is home from work and your kids are kind of loud and obnoxious. There is only one catch to this amazing deal; you cannot order more than one beverage every 30 minutes. Sounds pretty reasonable, right?
I’m not going to get into the math of how many cups of coffee or tea or soda one might be able to drink in the hours that Bruegger’s Bagels is open, ordering every 30 minutes, but let’s go ahead and say that you could potentially save thousands of dollars on beverages with this mug. But we will just go ahead and assume you are not a Bruegger’s stalker and only show up once a day for a cup of hot coffee (iced coffee, tea or soda) in your cool mug.
The mug itself costs anywhere from $169.99 to $195 depending on which one you want. However, the price of a cup of coffee here ranges from $1.49 to $2.49 so the savings are significant. More math – sorry; If you head to Bruegger’s once a day for a cup of coffee at an average price of $2 per day 5 days a week, you’re spending $520 per year on coffee. If you spend an average of $185 on this coffee cup, you will save yourself $335 per year on coffee. That’s a serious savings and a great deal – especially if you happen to work next door or across the street from a Bruegger’s or something. It means multiple free coffees throughout the day.
You’ll need to have your mug on you – no coffee without, and it’s only good for one year. However, with savings like that, that’s all you need to make it worthwhile. This is a deal you cannot pass up if you drink coffee daily and have a Bruegger’s near you.
