Judge Judy
Judge Judy is an American arbitration–based reality court show that has been airing since 1996. On the surface, it appears to be a legitimate courtroom show that helps resolve real disputes. However, Judge Judy is heavily scripted and produced to create drama and conflict. The cases featured on the show are not real, but rather actors depicting a dispute for entertainment purposes.
Additionally, the “judge“ is not a real judge either. She may have real legal knowledge, but she does not have any jurisdiction to rule over the cases featured on the show. Furthermore, her decisions are not legally binding anyway. Judge Judy is merely a TV show that uses sensationalism and entertainment to bring in ratings and attract viewers – it‘s all fake!
