American Airlines Rolls Out a List of New Flight Perks for 2016

American Airlines

Thank you, American Airlines. Not only are you allowing us East Coasters the chance to fly to the West Coast for only $149 roundtrip from some of the biggest airports around, now you’re telling us that you’re giving us free snacks and other great perks on all our flights? We don’t even know how to begin to thank you for finally realizing that you are taking all our money and giving us very little in return. We forgive you, though. Of course, this is not something that’s available to everyone on any American Airlines flight.

If you plan on flying in the Main or Premium Cabin in the future, however, you can expect some pretty nice perks to come your way. The airline announced that they are serving upgraded coffee, free snacks and new entertainment options for their passengers, and that comes right on the heels of announcing that the airline is also offering some high-end amenity kits to certain passengers on certain flights. The airline is really getting with the program and looking to rebrand itself into something a bit classier and more upscale this year, and it’s working.

International passengers will notice the difference right away with their new Biscoff cookies and pretzels. Additionally, passengers will enjoy a free meal on all Hawaii to Dallas flights as of May, and televisions in every cabin on all long-haul flight routes. It’s a nice addition for passengers looking to travel with the airline on long flights. Expect the changes to roll out slowly at first, but progress more efficiently and effectively as time goes on.

By the time 2017 rolls around, expect to see these upgrades on most all flights and on a more regular basis. It’s more than a small start, and it’s going to go a long way toward making the airline not only the largest in the country, but also one of the best.
