Success is awesome. You live your entire life excited about the day you are finally successful, and when it arrives you are nothing short of elated. However, some people don’t recognize that they have reached success, and most people want to succeed even more, even after they’ve reached a level of success that is considered phenomenal. Here’s what you have to do to find the success that you deserve.
Be Patient
Success does not happen overnight. When I decided to start writing, I did it from my home with my one-year-old daughter running around. I basically wrote for free because no one would pay me to do what I wanted to do without experience. Fast-forward and most of my clients pay me the big bucks to write articles for them for major websites…and the commissioner of the NFL even invited me to have lunch with him to discuss children’s safety in sports at his New York City office – which was the most awesome day. Ever. Ever, ever.
Be Persistent
Don’t give up just because someone said no. If everyone said yes the first time you tried something, you’d never learn to get better. Every no I heard from publishers and companies was just one more reason I had to work harder and learn more. Now I don’t hear no, I have to say no because I’m too busy.
Be Good at What You Do
It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you are good at it. And by good, I mean you need to be the best at what you do. If someone tells you you’re not the best, find out why they think so. Constructive criticism is going to be your best friend on the road to success, because it’s what’s going to motivate you and make you better at everything you do.
