Five Reasons to Avoid Black Friday Shopping Entirely

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, and it’s quickly approaching. It’s the day that men and women get up at the crack of dawn – or the day before these days – and go stand in line at their favorite stores so that they can get the best deals on the hottest Christmas gifts of the season. It’s become a bit of a madness-inducing day as people line up for hours and hours to save a few dollars on a new television or the biggest toy of the year. If you’re planning on heading out to shop on Black Friday, here are five reasons not to.

There are more videos online and on the news of people punching others, getting into fights and having to have their altercations broken up for various reasons on Black Friday. Sometimes there’s only one television left for 50 percent off the original price, and people would rather have to pay bail than pay full price.

It’s a Madhouse

Sometimes there’s only one television left for 50 percent off the original price, and people would rather have to pay bail than pay full price.

It’s Not Worth It

Believe it or not, most of the sales that happen on Black Friday are not the best ones. Sure, they’re good. They are not, however, great. You can get deals just as good on a television or toy on Cyber Monday and you can do that from the comfort of your own home with your hot coffee and pajamas on. And you don’t have to interact with the general public.

You’re Missing the Really Good Deals

The really good deals happen for the first few people in a store. This means you’re going to need to line up days in advance. Is that really worth missing Thanksgiving with your family – not to mention sleeping in your warm house in your warm bed and not in a parking lot so you can save $100 bucks on a television?

People Go to Jail

It’s not uncommon anymore for multiple people to end up spending Black Friday in jail and not in the nearest Best Buy. The altercations, fights and poor behavior that a sale television can incite is beyond ridiculous, and that is a good enough reason by itself to simply stay home and enjoy the holiday on your own couch.

It’s Dangerous

Some people want to save money – and not just because it seems like a good idea. Because it seems like the only thing that will make Christmas possible. For this reason, people end up getting hurt when they go out and shop on Black Friday. You don’t want to be one of the people that ends up stampeded on the ground when the doors to Target finally open up on Black Friday. Or Thanksgiving Thursday.
