Five Unique Baby Shower Games Ideas

Baby showers are fun and enjoyable, but they can be made even more fun when you play a few games. However, no one wants to play the same old games over and over again. Guests want something new and refreshing to keep their attention and make the games more exciting. Sure, it’s always fun to see people cut a string they think will fit around the mommy-to-be (and maybe even a little insulting) but these games are much more fun and much more unique.

Passing the Pacifier

What you’ll need are a few pacifiers that have handles on them as well as a few straws. You’ll separate guests into a few groups, evenly divided based on the number of people in attendance. The goal is to pass the pacifier from the front to the end of the line using only the straws in each guest’s mouth. The handle will fit onto the straw and each guest has to use only the straw, no hands or other body parts, to pass it to the end of the line. The first team finished wins.

Gender Neutral Photos

This game is a lot of fun. It will require obtaining photos of the mom and dad-to-be when they were babies. Make sure each of the photos is gender neutral so that it isn’t obvious who is in each picture. Make each of the guests look at the photos and try to guess who is in the photo. The winner is the person who makes the most correct guesses.

The Basket Game

This is a twist on an old game. Ask the mommy-to-be to walk around showing her guests a basket of baby goodies. They have five seconds to look in the basket and try to remember all that’s in there. Tell the guests they have to write down as many of the items as possible from the basket once it’s out of sight. Have the mommy-to-be leave the room with the basket and then inform your guests that they aren’t writing down what’s in the basket; they’re writing down what the mommy-to-be is wearing in great detail. It’s fun and hilarious to see the guests panic!

Baby Bottle Competition

Fill some cheap baby bottles with water and have all the guests line up. Give each one a bottle and tell them they have to drink all the water from the bottle and the person who drinks theirs the fastest wins the game. The trick is that it’s nearly impossible to suck water from a baby bottle! It comes out so slowly that your guests will have to get creative – see if anyone thinks to bite a hole in the nipple to win the game.

Car Seat and Stroller Races

If you have several friends who have infant car seats and strollers, ask to borrow them. Install the car seat bases into several cars and place the strollers in the trunk. Make the guests volunteer for the game. Have them, using baby dolls, race to dress their doll, correctly install the doll into the car seat and put the seat correctly into the car. Next, make them remove the car seat from the car and place it correctly into the folded up stroller in the trunk and race back to the house. The first one to do it all correctly wins the game.
