Three Important Secrets of Pregnancy

Now that you’re pregnant and excited to start your family, there are a few things you need to know. Not the things your doctor will tell you, or even the things your best friends who’ve already had kids will tell you. These are things that people don’t talk about, because they consider it taboo. However, a few anonymous pregnant women have offered up their pregnancy secrets, and we’re here to tell you if what they did when they were pregnant was okay, or very bad news.

I Ate Stuff My Doc Told Me Not To

Guilty. While I wasn’t guzzling the booze and throwing back sushi like it was going out of style, I did eat the cookie dough a few more times than I care to admit. However, there are strict rules you must adhere to when it comes to your pregnancy diet or you will really jeopardize your health and your baby’s health. Do I recommend this? No, but maybe one little bite is fine.

You’ll Play the Pregnancy Card

It may annoy you when others do it, but you’ll do it. You might be too pregnant to babysit your niece and nephew for your sister when you really don’t want to. You might be too pregnant to go to your mother-in-law’s for dinner this weekend. You might be too pregnant for a lot of things. It’s okay. Do I recommend this? Absolutely. You can only be too pregnant for so long, so use it while you can!

You Might Be Disappointed About Your Baby’s Gender

This is totally normal. My husband and I wanted a girl first, and we were thrilled to get one. Then we wanted a boy, but we got a second girl. We were a little disappointed when the doctor told us we’d be having a little girl for a second time, but now we can’t remember why we were disappointed; this little girl is beyond awesome. Don’t worry – you’ll still love your baby even if it isn’t what you wanted.
