Motivational Quotes to Live By

Over the years I’ve come across many quotes that inspire me. Some of them I memorize and repeat to myself daily so that I can teach them to my daughters. Others I merely jot down to glance at in the future when the time calls for it. Sometimes it helps to have a little reminder that helps me get motivated, makes me feel better, or calms me down when I’m feeling overwhelmed or annoyed at bad drivers, annoying cashiers, or people who park their carts in the middle of the narrow supermarket aisles and walk away from them. Here are a few quotes that are worth remembering.

Finished last will always be better than did not finish, which always trumps did not start.

Thinking too long about doing something is often the reason it never gets done.

Do not wait until conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes the conditions perfect.

Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.

When something bad happens you can either let it define you, let it destroy you, or let it strengthen you. The choice is yours.

Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but it doesn’t get you anywhere.

Nothing is impossible. The word itself says, “I’m Possible.”

Quotes such as these are good ones for parents to teach their kids. They are good ones to write down somewhere you can take a look at them when you are feeling defeated, lost, or stumped. Memorizing them and repeating them to yourself each morning will make it possible for you to continuously remember that everything that happens in life happens because of a choice you make. Knowing that you create your own happiness and success will make it easier for you to do it; if you don’t, no one else will.
