Make Every Day Lovely

It’s not hard to make every day a lovely day. In fact, anyone can do it. It doesn’t matter how tired, distracted or busy you are, you can make every day a lovely day. The problem for most people is that you don’t take the time to remember that you are in control of your own happiness. You let your bad days seem justified based on the behaviors of others and the outcome of things you may not be able to control. Your days shouldn’t be dictated by these things. If you practice making every day a lovely day, you’ll be surprised how quickly it becomes a habit that you just cannot change.

Smile

Even when you don’t feel like it; when you’re mad, sick or upset, make it a point to smile. When you smile, you automatically feel just a little better and a little less stressed. More importantly, when you take the time to smile at strangers as well as people you actually know, you’ll find that their reaction to your kindness makes you feel even better.

Slow Down

Stop rushing through your days in a major hurry. Take the time to enjoy the scenery on the way to work or to take a few minutes during your lunch or break to enjoy the simplicity of what surrounds you. Perhaps you work near a museum or a lake; take the time to notice the structure and architecture of the historic buildings or the natural beauty nature has to offer.

Give Compliments

Don’t give compliments just to give them; give them because you mean them. If you think the woman down the hall smells fabulous, tell her. Chances are good that she will be flattered that you noticed her new perfume and her thanks and reaction will make you feel like you just did something great.
