As a woman I often stand in front of my closet wondering what to wear. Itās not that always that I feel I havenāt enough to choose from or that I have too much to choose from, sometimes itās just a question of how I can dress like myself but still be appropriate for the occasion. It doesnāt help that we live in Florida and itās 100 degrees by mid-morning or during the winter itās 40 degrees in the morning and 85 by afternoon. In studying fashion advice from some of the most stylish women in the world, including fashion designers and those who seem to always look appropriate (think Kate Middleton) Iāve learned a few things about dressing appropriately.
Layers
Layers are always appropriate if you are unsure what the day with bring. Iāve learned that a flattering pair of jeans tailored to fit your individual body shape, a pair of ballet flats, a simple tee and a pretty cardigan (dress it up or down with accessories, such as your bag, jewelry and scarf) are perfect for casual occasions in which you arenāt sure whether youāll be hot or cold.
Church
When it comes to church, Iāve noticed that people tend to wear whatever they want. Some show up in jeans and some show up dressed for church ā or my opinion of what one should wear to church. Itās not always easy to decide what to wear to church, but my grandmother (who is so amazing) taught me that when it comes to worship, dressing up is always the appropriate choice.
Drop Off
Iāve seen it all at drop off. Iāve seen moms without bras, dads without shoes and even a mom in a dress that was really cute in theory but not when she was bending over in an attempt to remove her child from the car. Iāve come to the conclusion that modest is always a better choice.
