Pale is the New Tan
When it comes to spring fashion, let’s not go overboard with the faux tans. Sure, a spray tan is much safer and healthier than a tanning salon tan, but natural is all beautiful. Orange skin is not in this spring. Or last spring; or next spring, or any spring after that.
Long Layers
One of the hottest looks this spring is long hair layered all over. It’s chic, simple and sophisticated. It’s also cute when it’s worn in a messy bun, long braids and sleek ponytails. The trend is to grow it out and layer it.
Floral Print
If you’re going to choose a bold print to wear this season, make it a floral. Nothing is more stylish or hot right now than big floral prints. This is not the same print your mom dressed you in back in 1990; say goodbye to subtle florals and small prints and hello to big, bold and beautiful floral motifs on sundresses and tops.
Tangerine
Mint was all the rage last spring, and while it’s still a great color this spring, it’s not the hottest. This year, it’s all about tangerine. The color is soft yet bold, bright and beautiful and it looks good on just about anyone considering it’s the perfect mixture of orange and peach.
All White
If you’re going to make a statement this spring, make it in all white. One of the hottest looks on the runway right now is the head to toe white. Think white boat shoes, white pants, a white top and bold jewels. Add an oversized white hat or Jackie O. glasses and call it a day.
Less is More
This spring, style is all about less being more. For example, instead of piling on the makeup and attempting to look perfect at all times, skip the majority and go all natural. Make your sunscreen your best accessory and add a little excitement with a berry lip gloss and mascara.
Wrap it Up
When it doubt, grab a simple wrap dress and be done with your closet. A simple wrap dress can take you to the office with heels and a structured bag, to lunch with a pair of ballet flats or sandals and out for the night with a clutch, bold makeup and a pair of killer heels. Not to mention, it’s the most single-handedly flattering style for all body types.
Pencil Pants and Ballet Flats
We’ve taken a step back a couple of decades and this season we’re welcoming back pants with a pencil slim leg and ballet flats. The look is simple, chic and elegant. Pair this combo with a tunic for a casual and fun look or with a blazer for something a little more sophisticated.
Silky Scarves
Once the weather warms up a bit closer to spring it’s time to ditch those heavy scarves in favor of lighter ones in silkier materials. They can be worn as a style tool only or to keep you warm when the mornings and evenings cool off. Light fabrics and bright colors are best for spring.
Bold Jewelry
Nothing is more exciting than a great accessory, which is why bold jewelry is always in. Think to add several layers to your wrist, wear big rings, grab statement necklaces in bright berry colors and don’t be afraid to wear long, dangly earrings. Just don’t wear them all together or you’ll risk looking like a child playing dress up in mommy’s closet.
